The Plaza is one of two historic theatres in Mauritius. Visiting stars like Jacques Brel or stage productions from London would perform there. Films from Hollywood and Bollywood would attract audiences twice a day. Local talents would display their paintings, their singing skills and stage abilities at the Plaza. There is also a public library, a reception hall, an attractive surrounding park… For decades this heritage compound has suffered from neglect and has been deserted.
